The ACLU

It seems a lot of my dismay is towards this group so before I go into detailed posts with examples let me just say that I will probably be writing a lot about them. This blog is not meant to be an anti-ACLU blog but if it appears to be I'm not sorry. This blog is for everyone to comment on about anything happening in America right now, it just so happens a lot of what is wrong with America is not CAUSED by the ACLU but is represented by them.

I feel that most of the time the group is just out to make head lines. You can not claim to defend the constition and the freedom of our people if you keep taking away their RIGHTS to pray in public, protect themselves from those who wish to hurt us, and condem America by limiting the orginizations founded to protect it.

As much as I want to I won't go as far to say the ACLU are just as bad as the terrorists, but it seems to me that disallowing useful tools and methods to stopping terrorism is up there with the "man thats just wrong" list.

Everyone has rights including those who wish us harm. However, when your rights start to infringe on the rights of another...well your rights stop. The ACLU has made it where we cannot even search people if they do not wish to be searched at airports and subways. If you walk into an airport or subway right now carrying a bag and a security guard stops you and asks you to open the bag you may refuse and all he can do is ask you to go to the next airport or subway where you may try to slip by the guards there. This is not only because of the ACLU and they do not deserve all of the blame, but they represent the bulk of the reason why this kind of thing happens.

I feel that as an American citizen the right to protect myself, allow my government to protect me, and allow people that I pay with my tax money to do their jobs is a right I have to have. So thus the reason of the seemingly anti-ACLU.

Sir/ma'am it is not brainwash but well informed information I've gathered even from the main ACLU site.

I don't mind anyone posting and bashing me but please keep it to some constructive nature including examples or something to your point.

The ACLU has probably done a few good things I'm sure but I'm saying that the things they are doing like taking the cross off the San Fransico, or was it California in general, is stupid. They claimed it was insulting muslims of the country to have a christian cross on the seal. That's not so much religious as it is history. When I went over seas I was not insluted by any seals or symbols other countries had on their currency or even buildings, it is their culture and is to be respected.

Because someone has a problem with "In God We Trust" on the currency is stupid. It's the culture of America.

We should thank the ACLU and all the other left-wing liberal organizations for their assistance in educating the public on the existence of the Ten Commandments and helping to expose the true meaning of Christmas.

A few years ago, hardly anyone knew what the Ten Commandments were or what they meant. These organizations have been attacking the Ten Commandments displays in schools and public buildings. Today, you can ask anyone about the Ten Commandants, and they will know what they are and what they stand for.

And this time of year these ACLU has been aggressively attacking the spirit of Christmas and trying to secularize it. But again their efforts have awakened the sleeping giant. Their actions are backfiring and more people today are becoming aware of what they are really doing and are learning the true meaning of Christmas.
Merry CHRISTmas!

Well Robert, I am confused whether you are upset that people can refuse to be searched at airports and subways and just walk away and go somewhere else. If so, why? I believe that under the 5th amendment people are protected against unreasonable search and seizure. I am not saying that people should be allowed on planes without being search either, but if people dont want to be search then they dont get on the planes end of story. It seems to me that you also are a terrorist hunter and are willing to sacrifice some of your personal rights and liberties in exchange for protection against terrorist. However I am a political science major in my 3rd year of college, and through my studies I have came to believe that our founding fathers valued personal liberties as the driving force of a great democracy. So by giving up these rights for protection seems un-american to me, and thus by doing so aren't we simply letting the terrorist win by losing values that makes us Americans. And for the most part I do think the ACLU stands for good, becuase they are an intrest group that voices out what America was founded on.

ACLU founder Roger Baldwin, in a statement made in the founding charter of the ACLU :
"I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the State itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal."

Anyone that believes that the ACLU is really concerned with our civil liberties/rights are truly "useful idiots", as Joseph Stalin termed them.
